Our Precious Child

Angie Raye Dodge was born December 21, 1977 in Vancouver, WA to her proud parents Jack R. Dodge and Carol Nelson Dodge. Angie was their only daughter and the youngest of four children. Angie will always will be cherished by her parents, brothers, Grandma Nelson, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and an abundance of friends.

A Gifted Child

Angie was gifted with amazing intelligence and great enthusiasm for life. She attended kindergarten in San Diego, CA and attended her grade school years at Teresa Bunker Elementary and junior high years at Clair E. Gale in Idaho Falls, ID. Angie had a great love for young children and throughout her school years she tutored young children in Math and English. She graduated in 1995 from Idaho Falls High School as an honor student and attended Idaho State University for a short time after graduation.

A Child of the Outdoors with Great Enthusiasm for Life

Angie had great enthusiasm for life and loved nature and the beauty of the mountains, camping and hiking. Camping was a favorite adventure for the family with many cherished memories. Camping spots were very primitive at times but Angie always managed to find a creek with water to start a daily water fight with all of her cousins.

Cherished Holidays

Angie loved the Christmas holidays. Her birthday was just a few days before Christmas and often her birthday was combined with the yearly family Christmas party. Angie loved the big family Christmas parties she always arrived at the party with Christmas necklaces that she had made with ribbon and bells and made sure that everyone had a necklace to wear and extra supplies to make more for any additional guests. Our Christmas Parties always included a program celebrating the birth of the Savior and Angie loved playing the part of "Mary".

Family Cousins Recall

Alisa recalls at a young age how she loved to go to Angie's house and play. She remembers how Angie and she would make a playhouse under the staircase and they would play for hours with their cabbage patch dolls. Each doll had a special name and a little pacifier. To Alisa and Angie those dolls were their babies and it was important to them to take good care of the little ones by feeding, bathing, changing diapers, and of course nap times.

Friends Recall Fun Times

Friends cherished and remember memories of cursing in the Oldsmobile they named the "Boat". Angie always managed to fit several friends inside and they were amazed of how many miles they could go before running out of gas. Many times the "Boat" was caked with mud and filled with food wrappers that were inches deep. There were times the "Boat" looked like it had been in a demolition derby. Friends recall Angie always driving with one hand and hanging her foot out the window. Through her driving years she was lucky to only receive one driving violation. A few months before her death, she traded in the faithful "Boat" for brand new Chevy.

Mom Recalls Precious Last Moments

I will cherish forever my last precious moments spent with Angie on June 12, 1996 and for telling her how much I loved her. Angie had stopped by the family home around 9:15 PM. She expressed her excitement about living in her new apartment but said it was hard to face growing up. After chatting for awhile we walked out on the patio and I reached out to give her a hug, while giving her a hug she leaned her head on my shoulder and we rocked back and forth as if we were dancing. I whispered to her that she would always be my baby and told her how much I loved her; and she replied ... I still "Wittle" huh Mommy! She always said wittle instead of the little it was her way of saying that she would always be my baby. She left around 10:20 PM to return to her apartment and I remember that as she was pulling away it seemed as though she was in slow motion, she threw me a kiss and whispered "I Love You" as she was driving away and that was the last time I saw her. If I had known, it was my last time of holding her I would have never let go.
